We know that Minecraft version 1.8 (also called the "Adventure Update") is accessible via semi-official channels since the end of last week following an Mojang developer leaked the update with the studio's blessing. If you're not interested in searching for the file, however, you can now grab the update via the Minecraft launcher, where it was recently made available to all users.

We realize this doesn't affect our more technologically savvy, file-hunting readers, but if you share our worry about downloading a game update that is secretly an illegal bestiality porno virus, you can download the update without the particular apprehension.

[Thanks, Richard.]
